Delft University of Technology (in Dutch: Technische Universiteit Delft) is one of the most important institutions of higher education in the Netherlands and one of the most prestigious technical universities in Europe and the world.

It was founded on 8 January 1842 as the Royal Academy, later changed to the High Technical School (Technische Hogeschool) and finally, in 1986, to the University. For a long time, it has been one of the people who have been facilitating the ongoing struggle against the sea, among other things, the realisation of the Delta Plan.
